Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up online? Visit richmondheights.readsquared.com to sign up for the Summer Reading Club online. Prior to June 1, you will be prompted to enter your email address and will receive a reminder on June 1 to register your complete profile and begin logging reading. If you visit the site after June 1, you can register & begin logging immediately.
How do I sign up online if I created a Readsquared account for a previous reading program? Beginning June 1, visit richmondheights.readsquared.com and login with your username and password. (If you’ve forgotten your password, choose the Reset Password option and enter your email address). Then just choose the Summer Reading Club you wish to enroll in from the dropdown menu.
Is there a screen-free option? Yes! Download a paper log or pick one up at the Library and follow the instructions to log your reading. Be sure you bring the paper log with you to the Library when you are ready to collect your prizes.
Why do business vouchers vary for each program? Some of the vouchers donated to the Library by area business have specific age restrictions. We will do our best to make sure you get every voucher you are qualified to receive.
What is the maximum number of points I can log each day? You can log up to the maximum number of points required to complete your program each day (500 for Pre-K, 750 for Children, 1000 for Teens & Adults). Even after completion, you can keep logging to receive additional raffle entries, but the same remains true in terms of how many points you can log in any 24 hour period.
Can I log the same title multiple times? Yes! Whether you’re reading the same book across multiple sessions, or have a child who only wants to read Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems over, and over, and over again, feel free to log the same title as often as necessary to reflect your reading habits.
My child asks me to read several titles at a time. Do I need to document each title individually? You do not need to document each title. Just add time or pages! We are much more interested in how much you’re reading than in what you’re reading.
What happens when I complete the program? When you complete your program, you will be entered in the raffles for your age-level and you will receive the completion prize. For Pre-K and Children, that’s a book you choose from our prize cart in the Children’s Library. For Teen participants, that’s a book from their wishlist. The book from your wishlist will not be immediately available; the Librarians have to order it first and you will be contacted when it’s ready! For Adults, that’s an canvas tote bag. Raffles won’t run until after the Summer Reading Club ends on July 31, so even after you “complete” your program and win the completion prize, you can keep logging to win more raffle entries! Every time you earn enough points to complete the program again, you win another set of raffle entries.
